Nelson Mandela( Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela - Madiba) ~ Former President of South Africa, revered anti-apartheid icon, philanthropist, politician, peacemaker and hero to millions died at the age of 95 on Thursday, December 5th, 2013 after a long illness. He was a true inspiration. His contributions to our world are beyond measure. Some of Nelson Mandela's major achievements include:

Although imprisoned for 27 years he never allowed anger, bitterness and resentment to become part of his experience. He famously said, “As I walked out the door toward the gate that would lead to my freedom, I knew if I didn't leave my bitterness and hatred behind, I'd still be in prison.”
