Maya Angelou is the beloved author of I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings and 29 other published works. She's received numerous awards and accolades in her distinguished career. Her awards include the Presidential Medal of the Arts, the Lincoln Medal and The Presidential Medal of Freedom. Her screen play Georgia, Georgia was the first by an African American woman to be filmed and was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize.
