Introducing NYR Organic
We all want to use the safest products possible whenever we can right?
After my metastatic breast cancer diagnosis 8 1/2 years ago I went on a health rampage. I was determined to do everything within my power to get, and most importantly, to stay healthy. Using an integrative approach to my health I patched together a "program" that worked really well for me. It was vital to my overall well being that I become an active participant in my health and a vocal advocate for myself. Guess what? Today I am cancer free and have shown no evidence of disease for almost 7 1/2 years! My "program" worked for me...and it still does. There are so many of you who've done the same and I applaud you. Some of you may still be actively in treatment and all I can say is, "I've been there. It can feel discouraging and overwhelming at times, but you can do it. You'll find the strength when you need it, even if you don't think you have it, you do."
One of the aspects of my "program" involves being careful about what I use on my skin. Since skin is our largest organ and absorbs approximately 60% of what we put on it, doesn't it make sense to be diligent? Green Med Info wrote an aricle where Gloria Aparicio, a representative of NYR Organic Skin and Body Care, lists the top five additives that some studies have found questionable: parabens, phthalates, BHT and BHA, petrolatum, any kind of synthetic fragrances, and DEA. Read it here: http://www.greenmedinfo.com/blog/know-thyself-skin-care-products-can-be-more-toxic-food
As we know reading labels is a must. It may take time, but it's absolutley worth it. The only problem with labels is federal law allows companies to leave many chemicals off labels. According to the Environmental Working Group's Skin Deep Report, "Federal law allows companies to leave many chemicals off labels, including nanomaterials, ingredients considered trade secrets, and components of fragrance (Houlihan 2008). Fragrance may include any of 3,163 different chemicals (IFRA 2010), none of which are required to be listed on labels. Fragrance tests reveal an average of 14 hidden compounds per formulation, including potential hormone disruptors and diethyl phthalate, a compound linked to sperm damage (EWG & CSC, 2010)."http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/myths-on-cosmetics-safety/
Over the years I have managed to find many products I was pretty happy with, but I always wished there was something better, something safer and still affordable. You'll be happy to know there is. NYR Organic uses no: parabens, synthetic fragrances, GMO's, silicones, phthalates, parabens or nanoparticles. They also do no testing on animals.
About a year ago I started using NYR( Neal's Yard Remedies) Organic products. I began using a white tea based gel for the dark circles I get under my eyes and to be honest I really didn't think it would work since I'd tried other products without results in the past. I was wrong. Within a week my dark circles were almost gone and within 2 weeks they were completely gone. Wow! My daughter and mother were so impressed they purchased the eye gel and were happy to report they had the same results. We all continue to use it and look much brighter and less tired. We love NYR Organic.
I could go on and on about every product I've tried and why I love them, but instead I invite you to check them out for yourself.
